Armenian Art Promotion

There exists in the world a landlocked mountainous country in the Caucasus region of Eurosia called Armenia.

Over years Armenia has developed a modern and unique culture.

During years Armenia has introduced such outstanding painters as Ivan Aivazovsky, Minas Avetisyan, Arshile Gorky, Martiros Saryan to the world…

I do not know what it is exactly that inspires Armenian people to be so unique in art and culture. One thing I know for sure; Armenia will still take its chance to surprise the world with what is called typical and extraordinary Armenian culture.

However to create art is one thing, to make it popular and known is quite another thing. Art should never be promoted and sold by the artist himself, cause it deprives the artist from the opportunity to paint with his brains and not with his hands.

Art promotion is not less important than the promotion of any other spheres of life. To paint and create what is itself a living thing, the artist should never turn himself into a businessman whose first and foremost aim is to earn money.

Art washes from the soul the dust of everyday life, however without promotion of this very art something terrible happens…nothing! Here again arises a question…will promotion bring success.

The modern world of high technologies gives opportunities to promote art and sell art also through online market. Nowadays there exist millions of websites, blogs and e-shops that give an opportunity to speak out, to share ideas, blog posts, to sell art online, to keep a long story short, to know and get yourself known.

I do hope that Armenian art will be supported by art agents and by those companies and individuals who know and believe that national values are important to be preserved. I do believe that Armenia will stand for its unique culture and thanks to this support art will always be created with heart and not with hand...

Business or Art?

Frequently the artists who sell their paintings themselves turn into somewhat robots who make goods but not art. They paint not exactly what is inside their heart but what the customer ordered. So, art turns to be somewhat a conveyor, when each piece of art doesn’t differ from the previous one. It doesn’t contain the very special appeal which once used to make the artist unique.

What shall those artists do, who do not wish to turn their art into business, nevertheless they wish to sell their paintings and keep their niche in the market?

Modern world of marketing should give available opportunities to people who create art to relax and get pleasure of what they do. Artists should be confident that their art will undoubtedly be promoted and sold by marketers and art agents.

Art does not have the right to be the victim of circumstances.

Two of the miracles

Dream about flying
is an oil canvas painted in 2008. In this picture the variety of bright colors give the idea of flying. With the help of delicate transition of bright colors the artist creates the effect of flying. It seems like all the icons are in the air, nothing is stable, there is no subject tersely expressed.

When you look deep into the picture you see a woman’s contour and you are immediately captured by the feeling that you fly. The whole identity of the picture suggests that the artist sets herself free from being dependent on anything and anyone.

The yellow color that covers the face of the woman conveys the idea of dreaming, an idea that this dream is not eternal but rather temporary. The picture creates the atmosphere of peace and you feel at ease.

Dead city is an oil canvas painted in 1994. In the picture the artist reflected the Yerevan of 1994. After the great revolutionary movement the whole country appeared in a deep economic recession. What you see in this picture is completely and exactly what was inside the artist in those hard times. “This is the reflection of my feelings, of my inner world in those years,” the artist comments.

The whole background is painted in dark blue creating the sense of cloudy sky. It seems as if it is raining, but the rain is not out of water, but rather out of fire.

With the help of abstract solutions the artist provides the opportunity to create your own world in this picture, to look at it and see what one is eager to see.
